WHO WE ARE

We are a sustainably minded company that is looking to make our planet Earth, specifically San Diego, a healthier place to live. There is a need to reduce food waste and find alternate forms of disposal. We are here to bring gardens and composts to schools! We strive to create a closed loop system in which nothing is wasted and everything has its purpose.

Kyle Galkin, the founder and CEO of SustainSD, Inc., is currently obtaining his B.S. in Sustainable Food Systems from Arizona State University and has completed the compost training program through the Food2Soil company. After working in the restaurant industry for 10+ years on both the East and West coasts of the U.S., Kyle recognized the need to implement systems to reduce food waste. This in combination with his felt conviction to create a program that teaches youth how to use more sustainable practices in their daily lives inspired Kyle to create SustainSD, Inc. We hope to serve all schools in San Diego County one day!
